Meet Mrs. McPherson

Hey, I know you!  Most students know me from art class at school, where we enjoy our art classroom & projects together for about 45 minutes.  We love it!

But did you know...

Mrs. McPherson's full name?  Jennifer McPherson.  I'm a National Board Certified public school teacher (NBCT), credentialed in Art, Reading, Elementary Education, and English as a Second Language.  I also hold two graduate degrees in the field.  I've been teaching elementary school for 23 years (woah!), and have been working in Tahoma for 8 of those years.

Mrs. McPherson's hobbies?  Art making, of course!  But I also raise a small flock of chickens in my backyard, love to go camping in my pop-up trailer, co-chair the annual SLUG HUNT for the MVCAC, and am learning to garden.  The picture you see here was taken at a glass fusing studio in Woodinville - I just love to learn about new art materials!

Where Mrs. McPherson gets her inspiration? Just about anywhere!  The trees, mountains, weather of our beloved PNW.  Other art teachers.  Students and their art wonderings.  Instagram!  Ha ha.  There's lots of places to look to get ideas.

Can't wait to have you part of this art day camp, where we can work together on new projects, different materials, and make friends while we are doing it!
